Verse Jeremiah 17:11. _AS THE PARTRIDGE_] קרא _kore_. It is very likely that this was a bird different from our partridge. The text Dr. _Blayney_ translates thus: - (As) the kore that hatcheth what it doth not lay (So is) he who getteth riches, and not according to right. EXPOSITION Jeremiah 17:1 are closely connected with the preceding chapter. We have just been pointed to the striking contrast between the conduct of the heathen and that of the backsliding men of Judah. The inspired orator's indignation swells as he thinks of the inveterateness and indelibleness of Judah's sin.
