Revelation 22:4

And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. SEE HIS FACE - revealed in divine glory in Christ Jesus. They shall know Him with intuitive knowledge, even as they are known by Him (1 Corinthians 13:9): face to face. Compare , with . God the Father can nobly be seen in Christ. IN - `on their foreheads.' Not only shall they personally, in secret (), know their sonship, but shall be known as sons of God to all citizens of new Jerusalem; so that the free flow of mutual love among Christ's family members will not be checked by suspicion, as here....

1-5 All streams of earthly comfort are muddy; but these are clear, and refreshing. They give life, and preserve life, to those who drink of them, and thus they will flow for evermore. These point to the quickening and sanctifying influences of the Holy Spirit, as given to sinners through Christ. The Holy Spirit, proceeding from the Father and the Son, applies this salvation to our souls by his new-creating love and power. The trees of life are fed by the pure waters of the river that comes from the throne of God. The presence of God in heaven, is the health and happiness of the saints. This tree was an emblem of Christ, and of all the blessings of his salvation; and the leaves for the healing of the nations, mean that his favour and presence supply all good to the inhabitants of that blessed world. Verse Revelation 22:4. _SEE HIS FACE_] Enjoy what is called the beatific vision; and they shall exhibit the fullest evidence that they belong entirely to him, for _his name_ shall be _written on their foreheads_....

EXPOSITION REVELATION 22:1 AND HE SHOWED ME A PURE RIVER. Omit "pure." "And" connects this part of the vision with what precedes (Revelation 21:9). It would have been better, perhaps, if the twenty-first chapter had included the first five verses of the twenty-second, so as to take in the whole of the description of the heavenly Jerusalem. But there is a break at this point, as is indicated by the repetition of "And he showed me," which points to a new phase or section of the vision. The face of God, so as he is not to be seen now; they shall see him as he is; not only the angels, who always behold the face of God, but all the saints, risen and changed, being pure in heart, and perfectly holy; they shall see him face to face, they shall have intimate and familiar communion with him; they shall enjoy his favour, and have the freest and largest discoveries of his love; and they shall see the face of the Lamb; they shall behold Christ and his glory both with the eyes of their understanding, and with the eyes of their bodies; and this is a very desirable sight, and will be very glorious and delightful; it will be fully satisfying, and will make the saints like unto him; it will be free from all darkness and any interruption, and will always continue. CHAPTER 22:1-5 Revelation 22:1 . After the coming, Jerusalem and her blessings are once more revealed. In the opening verses of this chapter we find the glories of the redeemed. Unspeakably beautiful and glorious are the concluding statements of this glory-section of the Revelation. Seven glories of the Redeemed are enumerated. 1. There will be no more curse. It means a perfect sinlessness; perfect holiness. 2. The throne of God and of the Lamb is there and the redeemed are forever linked with that throne. It is a perfect and blessed government which can never be disturbed by disorder. 3. His servant shall serve Him. Heaven will not consist in idleness. The holy city knows of service. And the service the saints will render to God in glory will be a perfect service. What will it be? We do not know what service it will be. God will have many surprises for His saints in
