1 Corinthiens 7:37

Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.

Stedfast - ne pas être détourné de son but par obloque.

N'ayant aucune nécessité - découlant des inclinations naturelles de la fille.

Pouvoir sur sa propre volonté - quand, en raison de la volonté de sa fille de ne pas s'opposer à lui, il a le pouvoir d'effectuer sa volonté.

Décret - déterminé.
