Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

Ancien temps (hébreu, âges), qui était. Le pluriel hébreu ne peut pas être joint au verbe singulier. Traduisez donc: «Cela s'est passé dans les siècles précédents; il a certainement été avant nous »(Holden). Ou, comme Maurer, «Ce qui a été (fait) avant nous (en notre présence, 1 Chroniques 16:33), a déjà été (fait) dans les temps anciens."
