Ésaïe 44:18

They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

Il ne s'agit pas de son libre arbitre physique direct, mais providentiel, dans l'administration de son gouvernement moral (Ésaïe 6:9 - Ésaïe 6:10 ; 2 Thesaloniciens 2:11).
