AND AZARIAH THE SON OF JEHORAM KING OF JUDAH WENT DOWN TO SEE JEHORAM THE SON OF AHAB AT JEZREEL, BECAUSE HE WAS SICK._ AZARIAH ... EXPOSITION This chapter comprises the accession, brief reign, and death of Ahaziah (2 Chronicles 22:1) and the following murders and usurpation of Athaliah during six years (2 Chronicles 22:10). _Jezreel_ A city some distance to the north of Samaria, giving its name to the plain of Jezreel (Esdrelon). Ahab had a house there (1 Kings 21:1), probably a _country_house judging from the incident of Naboth's vineyard.
