But he hyperbolically extols this favor, when he says that no one would have need of a teacher or instructor, as every one would have himself sufficient knowledge. We therefore consider that the object of the Prophet is mainly to shew, that so great would be the light of the Gospel, that it would be clearly evident, that God under it deals more bountifully with his people, because its truth shines fort...

27-34 The people of God shall become numerous and prosperous. In Hebrews 8:8; Hebrews 8:9, this place is quoted as the sum of the covenant of grace made with believers in Jesus Christ. Verse Jeremiah 31:34. _AND THEY SHALL TEACH NO MORE_] It shall be a time of universal _light_ and _knowledge_; all shall _know God in Christ, from_ _the least to the greatest_; the _children_ shall be taught to _read_ _the New Covenant_, and to _understand_ the _terms_ of their salvation. _I WILL FORGIVE THEIR INIQUITY_] It shall be a time of GENERAL PARDON; multitudes shall be daily in the Christian Church receiving the witness of God's Spirit, and in their life and conversation witnessing a good confession.
