28._Verily I say to you. _That the disciples may not think that they have lost their pains, and repent of having begun the course, Christ warns them that the glory of his kingdom, which at that time was still hidden, was about to be revealed. As if he had said, “There is no reason why that mean condition should discourage you; for I, who am scarcely equal to the lowest, will at length ascend to my throne of majesty. Endure then for a little, till the time arrive for revealing nay glory.” And what does he then promise to them? Verse Matthew 19:28. _YE WHICH HAVE FOLLOWED ME, IN THE REGENERATION, WHEN_ _THE SON OF MAN SHALL SIT IN THE THRONE OF HIS GLORY_, C.] The punctuation which I have observed here, is that which is followed by the most eminent critics: the _regeneration_ is thus referred to the _time_ when Jesus _shall sit_ on the _throne_ of his _glory_, and not to the _time_ of _following_ him, which is utterly improper.
