Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.

Puis le roi a ordonné d'appeler ... les Chaldéens - ici un certain ordre de prêtres-magiciens, qui portaient une robe spéciale, comme celle vue sur les dieux et hommes divinisés dans les sculptures assyriennes. Ils appartenaient probablement exclusivement aux Chaldéens, la tribu originelle de la nation babylonienne, tout comme les Mages étaient proprement Mèdes.
