The third section of the prophet’s answer is divided into seven separate sayings (Zacarias 8:2; Zacarias 8:3; Zacarias 8:4; Zacarias 8:5; Zacarias 8:6; Zacarias 8:7; Zacarias 8:8; Zacarias 8:9; ), and the fourth into three (Zacarias 8:19, and Zacarias 8:23), each of which commences with “Thus saith the Lord of Hosts:” as much as to say, Do not imagine that these are merely the words of man; they are an express revelation from God.
