Hezekiah's Self-Exaltation

The Babylonian captivity announced (Ésaïe 39:5) 5. Hezekiah's submission and comfort (Ésaïe 39:8) The prediction of Isaiah of the Babylonian captivity, fulfilled through King Nebuchadnezzar about 100 years after these words were spoken, is startling.

The reader will bear in mind that the Assyrian was not yet overcome, for the sickness and self-exaltation of Hezekiah preceded the judgment of Sennacherib's army. The Assyrian and not Babylon was the threatening enemy. God's Spirit alone could enable him to make such a prediction.
