_AND IF ANY PART OF THEIR CARCASE FALL UPON ANY SOWING SEED WHICH IS TO BE SOWN, IT SHALL BE CLEAN._ If any part of their carcass fall upon any sowing seed ... it shall be clean - because the impurity of the contact would be absorbed by the earth. But the case was very different if the seed had been immersed in water contaminated by a carcass-for the grains, being moistened by the water, would imbibe the uncleanness, the taint of which would be transmitted to the future produce. Verse 37. _ANY SOWING SEED_] If any part of an impure carcass fall _accidentally_ on seed about to be sown, it shall not on that account be deemed unclean; but if the water put to the seed to prepare it for being sown, shall be touched by such impure carcass, the seed shall be considered as unclean, Leviticus 11:38. (LEVITICUS 11-16) THE LAW OF CLEAN AND UNCLEAN This section deals with the subject of ceremonial uncleanness and the method of its purification. Four main types of uncleanness are referred to, viz. that of meats (Leviticus 11:1), of carcases (Leviticus 11:24), of leprosy (Leviticus 13:14), and of certain bodily functions and conditions (Leviticus 12, 15). The effect of ceremonial uncleanness is that it disqualifies a person for the worship of God. This means two things. * If you have ‘*holiness’, you are very, very good. Really, only God is holy. That is, only God is perfect; only God has no *sin. But he says that his people are holy too. They become holy because they belong to him. And he is changing their lives. * Because his people are holy, they must be separate for him.
