Oseas 10:11

Y Efraín, etc.— Houbigant traduce el versículo así, Efraín es una novilla, acostumbrada a trillar el trigo, que ella ama; pero someteré su cuello al yugo; domaré a Efraín. Judá se arará para sí mismo; Jacob por sí mismo quebrantará la tierra; tanto como decir: "A Efraín le encanta trillar, en lugar de arar"; es decir, ama el botín que no obtiene con su propio trabajo; o trillar y comer del grano que no es suyo; porque la boca del buey que trilla no estaba vendada.

Israel very frequently made great depredations upon Judah: and as this heifer loved to tread out the corn, and not to plough, it is therefore added, that he should be made to plough;—put under the yoke; namely, that of the Assyrians. What is added, Judah and Jacob shall plough for themselves, means that Judah shall not now plough for Israel, but for himself; as Israel shall no more make depredations upon him.
